Today make your own way to the airport to depart on your overnight flight to South Africa. Enjoy in-flight meals and services.

DAY-2: CAPE TOWN (ARRIVAL) – AQUILA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE(-/-/-D)

Upon arrival in Cape town, you will be met and transferred to the Aquilla Private Game Reserve. Located on 7500 hectares of pristine land, this conservancy is home to the Big 5 as well as a multitude of other African animals. The reserve is tastefully decorated and designed to blend in naturally into the surrounding environment, making spotting wildlife from one’s room a definite possibility

DAY-3:AQUILA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE (B/L/D)

Enjoy two game drives today in open 4x4 safari vehicles with highly skilled and experienced safari guides.

DAY-4: AQUILA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE – CAPE TOWN (B/-/-)

After your last game drive and lunch, you will depart for Cape Town today. Known as the “Mother City”, Cape Town is situated amidst majestic mountains and surrounded by pristine white beaches and is known as one of the world’s most picturesque tourist destinations. Often called the 'cosmopolitan hub of Africa', it is home to a rich cultural and historical heritage, vibrant restaurants and nightlife, and a multitude of activities - from extreme sports to leisurely scenic cruises and world-class shopping. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

OPTIONAL: AFRICAN DINNER AND DRUMMING EXPERIENCE

Join a fun-filled evening of interactive entertainment and delicious food at Gold restaurant. Sample a set Cape Malay / African style menu which will be served at the table in sharing and individual portions. This evening will start with an interactive djembe drumming session followed by a traditional soothing hand-washing ceremony. A professional djembe drum instructor will teach you how to play the basic rhythms of the djembe drum. Live entertainment during dinner includes a Mali puppet show with storytelling featuring singers, dancers, puppets, and musicians. The final performance will be by the waiters and kitchen staff who will entertain you with some local songs and dances.

DAY-5: CAPE TOWN (B/-/-)

After breakfast, explore Cape Town on a half-day city tour that will take you to the historical and cultural sights of Cape Town. You will step into the rich history of the city passing by key historical monuments and places of interest, such as the impressive Castle of Good Hope and Cape Town City Hall. The tour stops at the beautiful St. George’s Cathedral, passes through the lush Company Gardens, and explores a cultural hub of Cape Town, the Bo-Kaap, also known as the Cape Malay quarter. A tour of this vibrant city, home to street markets of every kind, cosmopolitan and rustic eateries, and a host of cultures is an unforgettable experience.

*Please note, guests who purchase the Table Mountain Cable Car tickets today will be dropped off at the end of the city tour. The return transfer is NOT included.

OPTIONAL: TABLE MOUNTAIN CABLE CAR (TICKET ONLY, WEATHER PERMITTING)

With your ticket, take a cable car up to the summit of the legendary Table Mountain from where you may see the end of the world, including the city and surrounding layout of this southernmost tip of Africa.

DAY-6: CAPE TOWN (B/-/-)

Spend the day at leisure or perhaps book one of the following optional tours.

OPTIONAL: HALF-DAY CAPE POINT TOUR

Drive to Chapman’s Peak to admire the breathtaking scenery. Continue to Cape Point Nature Reserve, along with Cape Point to enjoy even more breathtaking landscapes of South Africa. You will then return to Cape Town via Simon’s Town where you may choose to see the penguins at Boulders Beach (at your own expense). The tour will be completed with a drive through Fish Hoek and Muizenberg.

OPTIONAL: TABLE MOUNTAIN AND CITY DAY TOUR (TICKETS TO CABLEWAY NOT INCLUDED)

Visit the famous Table Mountain (weather permitting) then descend and pass through Malay Quarter, the City Center, and Company Gardens. Visit the Castle of Good Hope (time permitting) and Diamond Works. Please note it is highly recommended that you purchase Table Mountain Cable Car tickets in advance (not included in the tour price).

You will have an opportunity to add an additional ½ hour Duiker Island boat trip from Hout Bay (at your own expense) before returning to Cape Town via Simon’s Town where you may opt to see penguins at Boulder Beach (at your own expense). This tour will take you through Fish Hoek and Muizenberg, and the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Mingle with locals as they do their weekly food shopping (vegetables, fruit, bread, honey) and try out some delicious cooked and raw foods (for your own account). Continue to the Neighborhoods Market at The Old Biscuit Mill (a real biscuit mill from around the 19th Century converted into a quaint little village showcasing great food and décor, in the heart of Woodstock). Enjoy delicious eats and treats (for your own account) and take the opportunity to browse through local arts and crafts. Your expert guide will be on hand to assist with insider tips on the local farmers and the products they are selling.

If you find you are too tired to walk down, you will have the option of taking the cable car (at your own expense).

OPTIONAL: FULL-DAY CAPE WINELANDS TOUR

Spend a superb day dedicated to celebrating the glorious grape, the exceptional Winelands region, and the heavenly scenery! The area is rich with history, and you won’t be able to help but feel it as you move through the region for a wine cellar tour and tasting, where you will learn all about the process of winemaking, from grape to goblet. You will visit the exquisite little town of Franschhoek, pass by the impressive Huguenot Monument, and enjoy lunch in a town with a reputation for gourmet fare. Wind your way to the heady heights of the Helshoogte Mountain Pass to see the charming university town of Stellenbosch on the other side. Stroll through this little town, absorbing the quaintness, and sneak into the odd shop or two (on Sundays not all galleries and shops are open)! Enjoy a wine-tasting tour at two different wine estates where you will be able to purchase your favorite wine to take back home!

OPTIONAL: HALF-DAY TOWNSHIP CULTURAL TOUR

Departing from Cape Town city center, the first stop will be in the Bo-Kaap. Learn about the arrival of Dutch sailors in 1652, a monumental turning point in South African history. Enjoy a short walk along the romantic cobblestone streets between the brightly colored homes. Your tour guide will explain how the framework for racial segregation was established. Next, a short drive will take you to District Six where the guide will elaborate on the next tier in the South African story i.e., Apartheid South Africa. Once in District Six, you will drive through the ruins of what once was a flourishing mixed-race community where 60,000 people lived and worked before it was demolished. The tour will continue to Langa, the oldest Black African Township in Cape Town. Upon arrival, there will be a photo stop at the site to commemorate the student uprising of 1976 and discuss the Pass Laws and barracks built for African migrant workers. Here, visitors will be immersed in the charisma and vibrancy of how religion is practiced in these townships.

OPTIONAL: GREAT WHITE SHARK CAGE DIVING TOUR

Travel to Gansbaai to enjoy a light breakfast before you proceed to Dyer Island. You can either cage dive and experience the thrills of being in the water with the Great White Sharks or view the more adventurous members of the group from the surface onboard the safety of the vessel. This tour will give you the experience of watching the magnificent predator in its natural feeding grounds.
